Wattle hurdles are woven fence panels made of riven hazel. They were traditionally used for folding sheep but have become very popular in gardens. Apart from the weaving itself, the main skills are in the splitting of the hazel using the tip of a billhook, as well as the twisting of the rods around the end uprights. There is more involved in making good hurdles than you might think but with a little patience an determination you'll soon pick it up. Participants draw lots at the end of the day to see who get
