Dry Stone Walling

Saturday 27th July 2019

Mount Folly Farm, Bigbury on Sea, TQ7 4AR

Grid Reference: SX 660447

Instructor: Jeremy Weiss

Dry stone walls are made entirely of stone with no mortar or soil. As a result of Devon's incredibly varied geology, there are many different types of wall found accross the county. You'll be introduced to the basic principles of dry stone walling. You'll be working to repair a wall using basic hand tools such as lump hammers and bars. Shovels and mattocks are useful where footing need to be replaced.
